The project includes the construction of 638 miles of 42-inch gas pipeline extending from Audrain County, MO, to Clarington, OH. The entire project is one of the largest natural gas pipelines ever constructed in North America and supplies gas to the Midwest and Eastern United States.
SGC was contracted to provide survey and mapping services to support Right-of-Way Acquisition, Environmental Surveys, Engineering Design, and the FERC Permit Application. SGC was able to deploy survey and mapping staff to perform the following services:
· GPS Control Surveys – Using a combination of static and rapid-static GPS survey techniques, survey control point pairs were set along the proposed route at strategic locations at three-to five-mile intervals.
· Centerline Survey – SGC provided personnel to survey the proposed alignment, work space limits, ownership limits and other pertinent survey data along the route.
· Data Processing and Management – All survey data was subjected to a rigorous least square analysis. Feature codes, recorded with the field data, were processed with automated line work generated to be utilized in the mapping task.
· Construction Survey As-Built – SGC performed the construction layout and as-built surveys on a portion of this project.
