SGC provided an interconnection study for a 2.2 MW Solar facility located in Fitchburg, Mass. The studies consisted of load flow, voltage, short circuit and relay coordination studies to determine the impacts and required upgrades to connect the facility to the grid. The connection would be made on a 13.8kV distribution line, and several upgrades to regulators and protection systems would be required to ensure the system operated correctly.

SGC’s scope consisted of: Updating existing load flow and short circuit models to include the new generation as well as required upgrades to distribution lines and regulators, a final report with conclusions and recommendations.
